When it comes to supplementing for bone loss and or bone support one of the best discoveries I have made recently is that you can put collagen in hot coffee without ruining it. Yup! This is really good news for all my coffee lovers 🙂
But there are a few tricks you need to be aware of.
-
You want to be sure it’s a good collagen. To that end, I use Garden of Life because it comes from 100% grass-fed cows.
-
You need to be aware that there are different types of collagen, from Type I to Type IV. The one I use to support my bones there is Garden of life collagen, Type I and III which supports joints, bones, hair, skin, and nails.

Finally the last thing you need to be aware of is how to make the collagen work in your coffee. If you have a frother it’s very easy otherwise you really have to just keep stirring it up while you are drinking it. I usually wait until the coffee mug is a little less than a half-full and add the scoop of collagen. I use my frother to mix it into the coffee. I also add in the Camu Camu vitamin C that I take every day in a powder form. The collagen has a fine taste whereas the Camu Camu is a bit on the bitter side, but there’s only a teaspoon of it and I don’t mind it. The great thing about using your coffee if you were a coffee drinker is that you simply get into the habit of getting the collagen and in my case the vitamin C every day. The collagen works the best when you take it every day. I notice a huge difference on the days that I don’t take it… I’m just saying!
